The opening of the new terminal at Antalya Airport is scheduled for April 11, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to attend the ceremony. The new terminal will allow passengers to avoid queues and will increase the airport’s capacity several times.
Antalya International Airport, a popular tourist destination, will become much more spacious and convenient. The new terminal will increase the airport’s area by 72%, and the area of International Terminal 2 by 140%. This will allow the airport to serve up to 82 million passengers per year, more than double the current figure of 35 million.
The airport will also have additional parking spaces, new taxiways and an expanded apron. In addition, a state-owned hotel will be opened on the premises, and the VIP and CIP terminals will be modernized.
By the summer season, the baggage claim process is expected to be accelerated, which will increase convenience for passengers. The total investment in the project is 850 million euros.
