The Central Bank of Turkey has decided to increase the key rate from 45 to 50 percent, as reported in an official press release published on the regulator’s website. This decision was made after a meeting of the Central Bank of Turkey, which took place on February 22. It should be noted that in June 2023, the central bank began a cycle of increasing the key rate, which was interrupted at 45 percent. This was the highest level since April 2003, when the rate was 44 percent.
