Annual inflation in Turkey in January amounted to 64.86 percent

According to data from the Turkish Institute of Statistics, in January this year the inflation rate was 6.7%, and over the past 12 months this figure reached 64.86%. Experts from the informal group ENAG claim that the consumer price index increased by 9.38% in January, and over the past year this increase was 129.11%.

Fatih Karahan, the new head of the Central Bank of Turkey, previously announced the regulator’s intention to prevent “a deterioration in inflation forecasts.”
